Archives For Encouragement

When you first get married you are blessed with housewarming gifts. Dishes, bedding, picture frames, you name it.

Then the babies start coming. And again, you’re blessed with clothing, blankets {lots of blankets}, toys {lots and lots of toys}, etc.

What began as a new life together with your spouse, living on only love, has become a hoarders paradise. We have a hard time letting go of the memories of when we used that one blanket for our first born. Or how this is the t-shirt we got on our honeymoon. These items are like keys that unlock our memories of good times. And we don’t want to forget. Continue Reading…

“I could never be lonely along the river. With so many trees in the city, you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. This was the only true sad time in Paris because it was unnatural. You expected to be sad in the fall. Part of you died each year when the leaves fell from the trees and their branches were bare against the wind and the cold, wintry light. But you knew there would always be a spring, as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason.
In those days, though, the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

The only thing that could spoil a day was people and if you could keep from making engagements, each day had no limits. People were always the limiters of happiness except for the very few that were as good as the spring itself.”

Mind you, I’m standing to the side wondering who this is. Can I trust him? Did he bring his girlfriend here? Who is this man that is now having his photo taken with John?? Dag gone this place is confusing. Continue Reading…

Our Unusual Vacation

March 12, 2014

Last month we took a very random trip down to Florida. And while down there we did the obvious – we went to Disney! We were able to go because of my husbands family and their military discounts. We played at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Except for the day it down poured. That I could have done without. But overall we had a fun time going on rides and just walking around.

A Day in the Life of

January 1, 2014

Happy New Year my loves! I’m still trying to think of my word for the year so in the mean time I want to explain what I’ll be sharing daily with you. Let’s be real, how often do moms get their photos taken? Especially with their children or husband? I, for one, am tired of waiting for others to take photographs of me. I’m not vain, I just want to have memories that I can look back on when my sweet loves have left the nest. My focus is going to be capturing those moments that usually go completely unnoticed.
