The Best Birthday Present Ever

September 5, 2013

baby me

I found out, only a few short months ago, that I was moments away from not being here.

You see, these little ones that I fight for every week, that was almost me.

I’d rather keep the details private {for now} but when the truth was revealed to me it was like being born again. And I’ve already been born again spiritually! Since that day the word ‘Eucharisteo’ has never meant so much to me. My life is so filled with thanksgiving. Knowing that my Creator saved me and used what was meant for evil for His good…eucharisteo, my loves, eucharisteo. Six weeks later I was born and I don’t think I’ve loved my mother more than I did when she was willing to tell me everything about my past. Crazy, right? It doesn’t make sense but I’m here and I’m thankful that she gave birth to me! Eucharisteo! And look at all these beautiful babies I’ve had that wouldn’t have been here. Eucharisteo!

Some people have told me that they’re so sorry or that I need to weep about this. On the contrary, I have been filled with such an incredible joyfulness and courage! And a loving fear of God. He spared my life. How can I not stand on the sidewalks and pray for the lives of these little ones? Those sidewalk counselors that were outside that hot summer day in 1980 had no idea there was a save that day. I wish I knew who they were. But alas, I have no doubt I can thank them for their prayers when I go Home.

Brothers and Sisters, your prayers are not in vain. Sidewalk counseling is rough. Nobody likes you. Heck, even the local churches seem to turn a blind eye, as if God’s children aren’t being dismembered just down the street. I’m not asking you to pray about joining us. I’m telling you to join us.

Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.

Happy Birthday to me! I love you mom! Thank you!

And thank you Father!

On the Box

August 21, 2013

This summer has been the season that I’ve been yearning for since I became a follower of Christ. We have been heavily learning how to share our faith. Without using Christianese.

Without sharing my entire conversion story right now let’s boil it down to the fact I was an atheist one year prior {thanks to a philosophy class in high school}. The only Bible I had was a children’s Bible that I read only the first couple pages of over the years. We had a large, old, family Bible but it was on a stand for display, never opened. So when I became a follower of Christ it was drastic! I was on fire! I wanted to tell everybody! But not having a Bible I didn’t know what to tell anybody.

Fast forward 14 1/2 years.

I began listening to On the Box with Ray Comfort. Don’t ask me how. I can honestly tell you that I do not remember how I came upon this. I had known of Way of the Master for years {since 2002?} but never really dug too deep into it. For whatever reason, Yahweh opened my eyes a few months ago and taught me so much that no church has ever attempted to. The churches I’ve attended have always taught to “bring a friend to church!” Ok, great, now what? I was never even taught how or why to invite people. I know that may sound stupid to some people but it really didn’t make sense. I mean, why should I stop my friend from going to another religious service? Why should they come to my church? Sure you can easily invite friends to a bonfire or movie night, but isn’t fellowship with Christ more than that? So when we began listening to On the Box I became addicted! This is what I have needed!

I am so thankful that my children have also been hungrily eating up God’s word and sharing it with others. So here is the main purpose of this post. My second daughter has been having a conversation with a dear friend of mine on instagram. My friend is a true follower of Christ, but she wanted to help my daughter out so she heckled her! She caused my daughter to dig deep and really understand her faith. The catch? We did this on instagram so she had to respond to my friends questions within 15 seconds! Let me tell ya, that got the whole family involved! Trying to pare down a long explanation into a Reader’s Digest response was difficult but helped all of us to be rooted down deeper.

Without further ado here are nine 15 second clips of my daughter answering her “heckler”

The first video is my daughter calling me out. This is what started it all.

My friend saw what was going on and decided to join in. I asked her question to my daughter.

From here on out I would ask my daughter the question and then videotape her. So I’ll post the response/question above the rest of the videos.

“You said I won’t be allowed in heaven because I’ve broken God’s commandments…so I just stay in the ground when I die.”

“I don’t know-I’m still searching. But if there is a god-why does he let bad things happen to good peaople.”

“Well I recognize I’m not the best person…I could be better…but I’m not as bad as some people…You keep mentioning Jesus…but I’m still not sure why this name matters…”

“Yes. But little white lies, those are no big deal…right?”

“Certainly not intentionally but probably. So, you are going to call me a thief…if I’m all these bad things and I am destined for God’s prison-why do you still want to talk to me?”

“Ok so I need a doctor…how do I get well?” {two part answer}

I hope this has encouraged you or maybe made you curious. Go check out the On the Box youtube channel and soak it all up! There are years of videos on there that are so incredibly beneficial! And then start a convo with people on instagram. It’s a great way to make sure you know what you believe.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

The Creation Museum

August 19, 2013

Last week we decided, kind of on a whim, to make the long drive to the Creation Museum in northern Kentucky {right near Cincinnati}. We’ve wanted to visit ever since it was built but we kept having babies! Well, this past May we were blessed to be able to listen to Ken Ham at Teach Them Diligently. I had heard of many people who loved his teachings and I had visited the Answers in Genesis website many times over the years but had never heard him speak. So first, totally shocked that he’s Australian. Didn’t see that coming. Second, I was shocked to hear that there are “christians” who don’t believe the Bible. Ken Ham teaches, or rather reiterates, what the Bible says about the earth and all that is in it being created within six literal days. Even when I wasn’t a true convert I still believed that. So when he started playing clip after clip of some of the most influential pastors that I follow saying that they believed in millions of years, well, shocked doesn’t quite capture my feelings at that moment. So now we were even more determined to go to the Creation Museum to see what all it was about.

A New Way to Read the Bible

August 12, 2013

biblereading

A while back I posted my favorite Bible reading system. There’s even a download on there that I re-created. And at that time in my life I truly did benefit from reading through the Bible in that way. It was the first time I had read through the entire Bible. It did take more than a year {I was new to this mothering gig}, but I loved checking off the parts I had read.

Just recently I came across a new way to read through the Bible and I love it! This isn’t for those on a tight time schedule, but at the same time it kind of is. Now that I have older kids we’ve figured out how we can all read together and make it part of our daily routine. As it should be, of course, but we get to read the Bible together now and it’s not just me waking up at the crack of dawn and hiding away. I still get my large cup of coffee, though.

It’s called Professor Grant Horner’s Bible Reading System.

The Silent Church

abortionmill

Last week I had to miss out on my trip to the abortion mill. My husband needed me home that day as he prepared for his trip to Guatemala. I was crushed that I couldn’t be there. And even more so when the updates started coming in…

“41 cars and at least 41 babies here to be murdered today!”

“There are 44 babies at least here today to be killed. There are so many hear that the waiting room cannot hold all the support people and they have overflowed onto the porch. This is an incredibly busy day. “

“very, very busy today and the spiritual warfare was extreme. The final count was 45 cars carrying 45 women.”

All I could think about was how there will be two full sized kindergarten classes in Charlotte that will never meet earth-side.

A fellow counselor then posted a video she took of a mom dancing in the parking lot of the abortion mill with her very young daughter. Dancing to, wait for it, satantic music. Oh the enemy attacked again. Not only was I not there but another family was all plagued with headaches that day. So the number of counselors was low and the number of those dancing and laughing over death was high. Sweet babies who were resting safely within their mothers wombs were severed limb by limb. At least one of them being 18 weeks along. The abortionists pockets were lined thicker. And the counselors hearts have been almost too heavy to bear this week.
