Fuel Cycle Day 1

For those on the Trim Healthy Mama I wanted to share my Fuel Cycle days with you. I’ve been doing THM since September 2013 and decided to overcome my fear of the Fuel Cycle. Plus, I had stalled in my weight loss. I have lost around 18 lbs since I began. The app TwoGrand has helped a lot! Lots of encouragement and guidance over there. Now, I’m short on time but I still want to post this so I will open up the comments for anybody with questions.

The first day is a Deep S day. Below are my meals. At the end I will describe my experience of the day.



Asparagus roasted in olive oil. Topped with scrambled eggs and a bit of smoked salmon. Cup of Trimaccino Heavy.


Big bowl of spinach dressed in olive oil, acv and lemon juice. Topped with baked salmon.


GGMS This has become almost an addiction. I love love love this drink. And all the acv is wonderful for your health!


Egg Roll in a Bowl. My husband edited it slightly. He removed the carrots. Here’s the ingredients he used: ground beef, zucchini, bok choy, squash, cabbage, green onion, soy sauce, chili pepper flakes, vinegar and gluccie.

Cake in a Mug with a melted mini skinny mint chocolate on top. This was terrible. I forgot that I had began using a new stevia since the last time I made this. So it was waaaaay tooooo sweet. I need to play around with how much to add. I topped it with 1/2T of heavy cream to distract from the stevia.

For being the first day of a two or three week journey I loved it! I expect Deep S days to be more enjoyable as you’re allowed lots of pure fats. I can definitely say that Trim Healthy Mama has taught me how to have confidence in myself. I’ve always thought I was a terrible cook. I was never taught and was afraid I would never be as good as others. The non-specific recipes within the book have forced me to taste meals while I’m cooking them. I’m so thankful for that! I used to bake cakes and was so used to knowing all the measurements. Cooking is drastically different from baking. I’ve found new freedom and grace!

After the first day I am down 1/2 pound. I loved all the meals and actually enjoyed taking my time trying new made-up recipes. I do need to make sure I drink more after this. This also isn’t cheap. Mainly because I still have to make another meal for the rest of the family. My husband has been very supportive and, I believe, has enjoyed making some of these dishes. He’s very creative! Everybody ate the Egg Roll in a Bowl last night and, this was funny, the boys liked it but the girls didn’t. I think the girls were grossed out by the wiggly veggies. Didn’t bother me! It was delicious!
