Teach Them Diligently Nashville :Recap:

March 31, 2014

It’s been just over a week since Teach Them Diligently wrapped up their 2014 Nashville convention. In just a few days our family will be packing up and heading to the Spartanburg, SC location. I wanted to give you a recap of what it was like in Nashville and persuade you, if you’ve been on the fence, to join us in Spartanburg this week {and get a $10 off discount}!

Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention 2014 Spartanburg

It’s so hard to put into words what exactly Teach Them Diligently means to our family.

This has been our third year attending and it keeps getting better each year.

This year we ran a booth for the first time for Cities 4 Life. The interactions with people were downright amazing! Moments where we’re like, really God? I mean really?? For example, one woman comes up to our booth and says she’s looking for so-and-so’s brother. We kinda shrugged our shoulders not knowing what she was talking about until we realized she was looking for my husband. She had come all the way up from Tampa and goes to the same church my sister in laws go to. Crazy!

I was walking around the vendor hall during set up when I saw my husband making a bee line for me. I thought he had lost his mind.

Ahh, then I realized he was pointing out the beautiful Trim Healthy Mama sisters to me!

I don’t even have time to go into the connections we found that we have with Serene and Pearl. That was mind blowing. Trim Healthy Mama has been an amazing life changer for our family!

Of course I always love seeing the beautiful Leslie Nunnery!

Alpha Omega Publications really rocked the vendor hall with their inflatable earth balls. Thank you AOP, you helped keep my little ones entertained! {and the big one}

Lamplighter was downright amazing. Y’all know we love their books. So we go over there and Mark Hamby, once again, graciously helps us pick out some books. My daughters, I kid you not, finished both books in one day! Yes, they are pricey books but they are not your normal run-of-the-mill kind of books. In our house they are read over and over and over and over, etc. And they last. Not one of our books looks the least bit run down. These will be passed down to the next generations.

Since I was helping to run the Cities 4 Life booth I didn’t get to go to a lot of talks. Thankfully the lady I was running the booth with got us up to one talk. It was the Todd Friel talk for women only.

2014-03-25_0013I love listening to Todd. I remember when we first came across his television show and we were immediately addicted. Then we saw how he would buddy up with Living Waters. I had no idea, however, how much that one talk would effect my life. He was talking about homeschooling but, to me, it didn’t mean anything about homeschooling. I was hearing God speak through him to teach me how to be content in where I am right now. Yes, my loves, I cried. God was breaking down walls I had put up since moving to a new city.

Here’s a little warning though. I was informed by a sweet friend afterward that Todd doesn’t like germs. I seriously didn’t know that. So going up to him with a baby that had just messed himself and was sticky from eating a fruit snack…yeah, wasn’t the most considerate thing I could have done. Mr. Friel, my deepest apologies.

We were also incredibly blessed to spend time with our dear friends from the Birth Control Movie. I highly recommend you stop by their booth!

And if you’re going to one of the TTD conventions pleeeeease sign your kids up for the chalk pastel art project with Creating a Masterpiece. This opens up a whole new world of art to homeschoolers! My kids absolutely loved this time!

I will be writing up an entirely different post about our Cities 4 Life experience because that really deserves it’s own moment.

For now though hop on board and join us in Spartanburg! This is your last day to get a $10 off discount. Doors open on Thursday and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous! I want to see your beautiful faces!
