This is a weakness of mine. The Skinny Chocolate is delicious, don’t get me wrong, but I was thrilled when my husband and I figured out how to make lox & bagel Trim Healthy Mama approved as an E meal.
At Whole Foods you can find some delicious sprouted bagels. We’ve eaten sprouted bread for years and this is not as heavy and dense as the bread. This really tastes like a “normal” bagel. And since cream cheese would have too much fat in it we discovered that Chèvre tastes just as good if not better! Only 2.5g of fat in 2 Tablespoons.
Now, because of the carb content I opted to only enjoy half of the bagel. Still delicious considering you get to enjoy a past yummy and still lose weight. But I fully plan on eating the entire bagel as a Crossover at times.
Spread some chèvre on top of a toasted bagel half. Lay on the smoked salmon slices. Top with diced red onion and capers. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and/or fresh dill. And enjoy!
