You know one thing that’s always bothered me? Male birds. They always look the best. They’re the colorful ones while the females are dull looking. Humans are quite the opposite, aren’t we? Look at cardinals, peacocks, blue birds, etc. It is time to start giving some beauty back to these little ladies. I have one daughter that, ever since I can remember, has been fascinated with birds. Funny enough, I received a tiny bird bath as a gift when she was born. This project made her and her siblings so excited. We gathered all of our yarn and twine and also a produce bag that perviously carried apples.
My children loved doing this! They dug into our box of yarn and snipped all different sizes and colors of yarn and twine. They then passed the pieces down to their little brother and his job was to stuff the bag full. He would pull some yarn slightly through to entice the birds.
We tied the bag shut and hung it outside. Now, I will say, we only had a red bag and I will be changing it out with a brown or green bag to blend in to the scenery. I’m afraid the red might be keeping the birds away.
Hoping to see some pretty nests out back this spring! If you can see in the picture below there’s a was a smart mister cardinal looking to get some pretties for his mrs right after shop opened.
Blessings!
