Do you know the lyrics to “Let it Go?” Or how about the lyrics to the Fresh Prince theme song? When you’re young it’s so much easier to memorize. Children are like little sponges. Which is why we should always watch what we’re saying around them. “Be careful little ears what you hear.” And this is such a great time in life to fill their hearts and memory banks with the scriptures. Instead of your child being able to repeat word for word the lines of a movie how amazing would it be for them to be able to repeat the scriptures?
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:9-11 ESV)
Our children thrive when they go to AWANA and memorize verses there. They have a great time with friends and there’s this little seed of competition to see who can memorize the most. And what is most amazing is that when the year is over, they still have their verses memorized. But AWANA takes breaks {winter and summer breaks}. And it’s only one day a week. We’re talking about 28 days a year our children gather to memorize scriptures. So we looked for other ways to help our children memorize verses and we couldn’t find anything “fun.” Something that would excite their little heads.
So for over a year we have been working on a project that will help you and your children to memorize scripture. Introducing Josiah Cards.
We have a Kickstarter campaign going for the next few weeks with the hopes of raising the money needed to start mass producing the sets. Right now we have two packs prepared: 1-30 and 31-60.
We are praying that children all over the world will benefit from the learning game of Josiah Cards. You know the Pokemon cards? Yeah, this is similar. Instead of imaginary characters on the cards you’ll have a different Bible character on each card with a memory verse.
I love my children. And I am so thankful that Yahweh has blessed us with each and every one. As their mother I long for their hearts to be knit with His. To live by His word. When they come to a valley in their life I want them to hear His word speaking to them, guiding them. When they are walking with a friend I want them to be able to speak life into them. I want them to be able to share the gospel with the lost.
that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2-3 ESV)
That is our hope and prayer for Josiah Cards. That you will be sewing God’s word into their hearts with help of this fun game. That they will be memorizing scriptures from a young age. Mama’s, these children are our art and the scriptures are the glitter that makes them shine. Encourage your children to shine in a dark world. Prepare them now. Be Christ to your little ones.
